Coppertone Clearly Sheer SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray for Sunny Days Review

Let’s talk sunscreen. Do you wear sunscreen every day of the year? What about those cloudy summer days? If you answered no to either of those questions then you must keep reading. No I am not going to shove sunscreen down your throats. One I am not that aggressive and two that would taste horrible. However it’s a very important product that most people seem to overlook.

I was sent a Coppertone Clearly Sheer SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray for Sunny days to try out, and this really excited me. Most of the sunscreens I own are Coppertone so I was more than happy to try their new brand and give my honest opinions.

Sunscreen should be a skin care staple in your everyday routine because the ultraviolet (UV) rays can penetrate your skin even when it seems like the sun isn’t shining. The name of this new Coppertone line may be deceiving due to ‘for Sunny Day’ but I feel they have that in the title because of the added benefits, protection and water resistance they have added into this line.

The spray-on lotion, water-resistant sunscreen goes on light leaving next to no trace on your skin accompanied with a minimalistic coconut-like scent. Some would say that since it contains alcohol this will risk skin irritation and free-radical damage however if you read studies on alcohol pertaining to free radical damage they study the consumption of alcohol, not topically applied. Think about water, if you ingest water it helps hydrate you among many other things but if you sit in a bath of water there are not the same effects. With that being said I would suggest holding your breath while spraying so you do not ingest it, for this reason lotions are best for children. The one thing alcohol can do to your skin is slightly dry it out, but they have added ingredients to counteract that (aloe and vitamin E).

Goes on clear

I like spray-on lotion sunscreens for their fast applications. Before leaving the house I will apply my lotion and once I am out and about I will reapply with the spray. Most sunscreen will leave your skin feeling oily but I haven’t had that issue with this (YAY), which makes me quite happy since my face does a good enough job of becoming oily by itself. What I thought to be quite neat is that Coppertone added a couple vitamin-based antioxidants and designed this new line with sensitive/acne-prone skin in mind. Thus far I have not had any extra breakouts only the normal monthly ones, if only it could take those away!

The line also has a face specific lotion as well as a body lotion. You can buy them at retailers, drug and grocery stores. They body spray and lotion are $9.99 and the face lotion is $8.49.

Overall I find this to be a great sunscreen, I used a lotion then this my during the day re-application and I have had no sunburns, breakouts, and such. I would definitely repurchase it.
