I know, I know… Why 8? Why not 10? well why not! There were a few others I was debating putting on this list however I feel like these 8 were a much stronger fit. This holiday season I have been having such a tough time deciding which one to wear for Christmas but why settle for one when you can do 8?! No, really I won’t be wearing 8 lipsticks on Christmas however I do have 4 family Christmas’ to attend so I am lucky enough to be able to use 4! Alright enough rambling and straight to the point. There is no specific order here, just did the swatches in my arm and followed that order. I love them all equally for many different reasons.
1. Le Marc Lip Crème in So Rouge – $30
I don’t know how they did it and I don’t care, this lipstick looks amazing with cool and warm skin tones. It is ultra-hydrating, seriously it feels so smooth when put on even with dry lips. Great pigmentation however I would have to call them out on the lasting power. It does last a great deal of time but you need touch ups.
2. Make Up For Ever Artist Intense in Moulin Rouge (Satin Vibrant Red) – $20
This lipstick has a beautiful satin finish and barely feathers without lip liners (although lip liner is still important!) They do have the option of opaque of matte finishes as well. Very rich in colour and creamy in texture however the staying power is only there if you are not eating or drinking.
3. Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture in Le Rouge (Blood Red) – $36
I adore how this lipstick is formulated with antioxidant care and intense hydration. Despite it’s satin creamy texture it barely transfers while eating or drinking and I have only had to do a slight touch up mid day with it. You have the options of a satin or matte finish.
4. Lord & Berry Crayon Lipstick in Sensual– $13
This lipstick has such a smooth application but you definitely need a lip liner when using it! It give great colour and has the option or matte or satin finish. When I used it over my dry lips it made them look amazing and hid all imperfections while moisturizing them in the process.
5. Ciate London Liquid Velvet in Risque – $19
This is such an amazing liquid lipstick. It’s long wearing with a matte finish but unlike most matte lipsticks it doesn’t crack or dry out you lips. In fact it has intense lip conditioning benefits. Click here to read more about it. Click here to read my blog about it.
6. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw (brick red) – $20
Kat Von D is going to rule the world of beauty one day. Her liquid lipsticks are by far the best ones on the market, just look at the picture above! I rubbed the swatches off with a makeup removing cloth for a good minute and it still wasn’t budging! I actually had to soak my arm in makeup remover for a few minutes before trying again and there is still a tinge of colour left. With this one you do need to exfoliate your lips prior to use but it is worth it! It glides on so smoothly and dries to a gorgeous matte finish in under a minute! The perfect lipstick for any night out.
7. Liptini in Starlet Cocktail (vibrant rich berry) – $18
This brand has such a great story of how it came together and they are vegan/cruelty free! I received this as a beauty sample from ipsy and wore it so much this past fall. I love how it is a deep red but not in your face. I also use it on my cheeks because it blends nicely and it makes a great blush!
8. Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Sangria – $17
I bought this with Tarte’s holiday set which you can check out here. This lipstick is more sheer than the others but it is buildable, with a few layers it can be as bold as the others however bring it with you on a night out because touch ups are a necessity. That may sound like a flaw but it really isn’t, out of my million reds it made it on this list for a reason! I gives such really nice shine and the moisturizing benefits are absolutely amazing!
