Tarte Deluxe Amazonian Butter Lipstick Set Review & Swatches

I am a sucker for Summer but an even big sucker for Holiday sets! One of the latests holiday sets I picked up is Tarte’s Deluxe Amazonian Butter Lipstick Set. You get to try out 4 deluxe sample sized (o.o35 oz) lipsticks for $25 CAD or $21 USD which I’d say is a good value to try out 4 of Tarte’s most popular butter lipsticks in never before seen shades.

This set contains:
Sangria (berry red)

Punch (mauve pink)

Mimosa (peachy nude)

Bellini (golden pink)

The Pros:

I have to be honest, I bought these without trying them on, reading the ingredients or anything but was very happy with how they turned out. I found when on the Cupuacu, Murumuru, and Shea butter bring an amazing amount of moisture and softness to your lips even after it fades making these products PERFECT for this upcoming season. Some of you may take this as a con but I love that it has buildable coverage, put on once for a nice slight pop of colour or multiple layers for fully coloured lips with a slight shine.

The Cons:

The staying power just isn’t therewith these, I tried priming, concealer before putting them on, setting powders and sprays but the longest I could get was around 2.5 hours, 3 with the darker shade, of wear before having to reapply. Another thing was the packaging, they have a patterned paper-like cover around it and it doesn’t do it for me, looks really cheaply made. I was also disappointed in the Sangria, it loos like it would be a nice dark berry colour but on my skintone it was more red than anything.

All in all I would repurchase the lighter colours in full size and its a great gift idea for any fellow lip lover !
